The Lord is my Salvation 

Blessed be the LORD, who alone is God!

The LORD is my salvation,

The righteousness of the poor in spirit!

He has freed my soul from the sting of death,

And given me victory over the world and the flesh.

The Lord is my salvation;

For He has delivered me from the wrath to come.

My heart delighted in deeds of wickedness.

Gloom and sorrow were my soul’s companions;

For my iniquities outnumbered the sand of the sea.

My heart agonized in deep straits,

The fear of death rent my soul;

Darkness surrounded me on every side.

I was on the path to Sheol. 

But You looked upon me with kindness, O God of my salvation,

And granted deliverance to my soul.

I was a rebel to Your will,

Unwilling and unable to honor You – my God and my King.

But in Your steadfast love, You sought me

And bestowed Your grace upon me.

You put the fear of Thee in me, O God of my peace.

What a grace! What a glorious gift for my soul!

For the Lord has revealed to me His salvation

And in His grace ransomed me from the wrath to come.

Awake, my soul,

And sing to the Lord forever!

Proclaim the excellencies of our God;

For He is exceedingly gracious toward me.

He has removed the scales from my eyes

And exposed the wretchedness of my heart.

Awake and sing of His magnificent glory and goodness!

I neither sought Him, nor did I love Him.

But He so loved me, 

That He left His throne on high to ransom me –

He came and lived the perfect life I can never live,

And died as my substitute upon a tree.

What love! What condescension!

Who is like the Lord, the God of all grace?

Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever,

And bountiful is Your grace.

O Blessed Spirit of holiness,

Your law, You have written on the tablet of my heart! 

You have poured into my heart the love of God. 

You powerfully worked within me and led me to repentance and faith.

Great was the darkness within me and burdensome its power over me;

But You have given me a new heart and a new mind,

O Redeemer of my soul!

You are the Light of men, the LORD our righteousness, the Salvation of my soul!

Death has no claim on me;

For You has removed its sting, O Lord.

Sin is no longer my master,

For You have made me a partaker of the divine nature.

The king of darkness no longer has dominion on me,

For You crushed his head at the cross;

You made a public spectacle of him at Calvary.

Who is like the LORD, whose dominion is from everlasting to everlasting?

The LORD is my salvation and my peace.

Blessed be His holy name forever!

Be blessed, O Spirit of grace!

Salvation is in the name of the Lord.

For Thee, O Redeemer of my soul, I live!

Of Thee, O glorious Spirit of love, my soul boasts.

For in Your mercy and grace, 

You have saved me from the wrath to come

And endowed my soul with life everlasting.
